The President of Turkmenistan was greeted with honors in Tashkent on Monday. At the airport of the Uzbek capital, Shavkat Mirziyoyev was the first to greet Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

From here the motorcade of the Turkmen and Uzbek leaders headed to the Monument of Independence and Humanism, where Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov laid flowers, the “Altyn Asyr” TV channel transmits.

Then the heads of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan went to the state residence Kuksaroy.

On Tuesday, October 5, the Turkmen-Uzbek summit talks will be held here. It is expected that the sides' approaches to further cooperation and its expansion will be specified. More than 20 joint documents are planned to be signed.

The visit was also timed to the Turkmen-Uzbek economic forum with the participation of representatives of government agencies and business communities of the two countries. The agenda of the forum is the intensification of trade relations, mutual export-import operations, the implementation of joint investment projects.

As a result of the business meeting, 13 bilateral documents were signed, including on trade transactions totaling $ 13.5 million.
