Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev Synchronized Watches on the Bilateral Agenda
04.08.2025 | 20:40 |National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who arrived in the city of Turkmenbashi.
At the beginning of the conversation, the head of Uzbekistan congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on holding the third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries at a high level, especially noting the vital importance of the issues included in its agenda for the sustainable development of our region.
Topical issues of further strengthening Turkmen-Uzbek relations of good-neighborliness and strategic partnership in the context of implementing the agreements reached at the meeting in Samarkand in April this year were discussed.
The growing dynamics of multifaceted cooperation based on the principles of friendship, trust and consideration of common interests, fruitful and active contacts at all levels were noted. Since the beginning of the year, trade turnover has amounted to 600 million dollars. Cooperation in the spheres of industry, energy, transport, agriculture and water management, and other sectors of the economy is deepening.
The border trade zone "Shavat-Dashoguz" is being jointly created, interregional contacts and humanitarian exchanges are developing.
In preparation for the upcoming summits, it is planned to hold meetings of intergovernmental commissions, the Business Council, the Forum of Regions, and a number of cultural events.
A thorough exchange of opinions also took place on the agenda of the UN Conference and the seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia planned for this fall in Tashkent, the website of the President of Uzbekistan reports.
