Oriented on making people closer

Having joined the United Nations on March 2, 1992 as a newly independent state, Turkmenistan has acceded to the main international conventions over the past 33 years and has been strictly fulfilling its obligations. Currently, the scale of strategic cooperation with the UN, based on the accumulated rich experience and great opportunities, is constantly expanding along the lines of the main agencies and large specialized structures of the Organization.

On February 26, in honor of the anniversary of the country's accession to the UN, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan organized a competition among students of higher educational institutions of the country.

The competition was organized by the scientific circle "Young Lawyers" and the Council of Young Scientists of the Department of International and Comparative Law. It was actively participated by students of the International University for Humanities and Development, Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan, as well as the Higher School of Diplomacy.

The competition included three stages: first, it was necessary to answer questions regarding the activities of the UN, then speak on behalf of your country at a simulated session of the UN General Assembly, and the competition ended with a test on knowledge of the flags of the countries of the world and basic information about them.

The main prize of the competition was won by students of the Institute of International Relations. Students of TSU named after Magtymguly took first place, students of the Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs won second place, and third place went to students of the International University for Humanities and Development.

At the end of the competition, the winners were solemnly presented with Certificates of Honor and memorable gifts prepared by the organizers.
