 Turkmen Conservatory invites to a concert in honor of the 95th anniversary of Medeniet Shakhberdiyeva

The Turkmen National Conservatory named after Maya Kulieva is preparing to hold a concert on February 27 dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the outstanding singer, People's Artist of Turkmenistan Medeniet Shakhberdiyeva. The concert program will be preceded by performances by colleagues on the stage and those who are well acquainted with the work of the famous singer. Professor of the conservatory, People's Artist Atageldy Garyagdiyev will share his memories of her.

The concert will feature popular numbers from the repertoire of Medeniet Shakhberdiyeva - both excerpts from world and national opera classics, and popular songs. Among them are an aria from the musical comedy "The Marriage of Figaro" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, as well as arias and duets from operas by Turkmen composers: Veli Mukhatov "The End of the Bloody Divide", Nury Mukhatov "Keymir Ker", Adrian Shaposhnikov and Danatar Ovezov "Shasenem and Garib", Danatar Ovezov and Yuli Meytus "Leyli and Majnun", Rejep Rejepov "Gorogly".

The famous "Song about Ashgabat" by Nury Khalmamedov, which was first performed by Medeniet Shakhberdiyeva, will be performed at the concert by Atageldy Garyagdiyev. And the romance "Nightingale" by Alexander Alyabyev to the verses of poet Anton Delvig will be performed by Honored Artist Ayna Seyitkulieva. The program also includes the songs "Djan Turkmenistan" by Veli Mukhatov, "Waiting for You" by Chary Nurymov and others.

Medeniet Shakhberdiyeva, who was called the "Turkmen nightingale" for her amazingly beautiful vocals, was born on February 23, 1930 in an ordinary Turkmen family and was raised in the Mary orphanage. Endowed with musical abilities, the girl was enrolled in the Republican Children's Music Boarding School, in the violin department. However, her vocal talent prevailed and was professionally developed at the Moscow Conservatory named after Tchaikovsky, which she graduated with honors.

According to the recollections of colleagues and admirers, Medeniet Shakhberdiyeva was an extraordinary person, to whom composers and artists dedicated their works.

Artistic director of the Moscow International Festival "Sounds of Dutar" named after Nury Khalmamedov, composer Mamed Guseynov calls his acquaintance and communication with Medeniet Shakhberdiyeva a miracle. According to him, no matter how she expressed herself and what it concerned, whether it was teaching or communication with colleagues, relatives and people close in spirit, Medeniet Shakhberdiyeva was impeccable in all her manifestations. Thanks to her amazing spiritual impulse, several generations of musicians, several dozen of her students strive for high goals in art. Her work is an absolute example for musicians.

In the memory of Murad Divanaev, Medeniet Shakhberdiyeva remained a kind and sympathetic colleague, an energetic, cheerful person who tried to help others. She worked as a teacher at the conservatory until the end of her life. She loved her job very much, treated her students with love and devoted herself completely to the lesson, and instilled a love of art in her students. And the students treated her with respect and gratitude. The outstanding talent of the "Turkmen nightingale" was recognized not only in Turkmenistan but throughout the Soviet Union. She was applauded in Germany, France, Poland, India, Canada, Sweden.
