09.07.2025 | 01:07 |National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a working visit to the Balkan velayat. The purpose of the inspection was to assess the preparations for the upcoming Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3) in August, which will host thousands of delegates in the Avaza multifunctional sports complex on the Caspian coast.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov personally inspected the preparations for the international forum. He especially noted the political, economic, social and humanitarian significance of the upcoming Conference. Emphasizing Turkmenistan's contribution to the expansion of international partnership, the National Leader focused on the implementation of large-scale long-term strategies and programs of the UN.
The head of the Khalk Maslakhaty expressed confidence that the decisions taken at the forum will give a powerful impetus to the development of relations between the participating countries. This is not the first time that Turkmenistan has become a platform for important UN initiatives: in 2016, the first UN Global Conference on Sustainable Transport was held here, and in 2022 – the Conference of Ministers of Transport of Landlocked Developing Countries. These events clearly demonstrate Turkmenistan's continued commitment to successfully address global challenges and coordinate efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
During the inspection, the Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty gave a number of specific and detailed instructions aimed at ensuring the highest level of the Conference. Among them: information and technological equipment, comfort and hospitality, security and infrastructure, media support, communication support and volunteer work.
Following the reports from the heads of the relevant departments, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that each task should be carefully worked out. He also emphasized Turkmenistan’s solid experience in holding international events, which obliges it to make every effort to organize the Conference at the highest level, making it a significant event for all participating states.
