Turkmenistan’s drillers develop new deep oil wells
12.02.2025 | 12:40 |In 2024, drillers from the Ekarem Drilling Operations Directorate of the «Nebitgazburawlaýyş» trust under the «Türkmennebit» State concern commissioned 11 new wells at the «Keymir», «Ekarem», «Shatut», «Northern» «Goturdepe», «Kemer», and «Uzynada» fields, «Нейтральный Туркменистан» newspaper reports.
One of the most challenging sites remains the «Uzynada» field, where deep wells are being drilled to a projected depth of 6,800 meters. The rich hydrocarbon reservoirs require highly qualified specialists and the use of modern equipment. Last year, well No. 84 was successfully drilled at «Uzynada», yielding an industrial flow of oil.
In 2024, specialists also began installing a new well, No. 87. The work involves advanced drilling rigs, including the Chinese-made «ZD 70 DB», which has proven effective in complex geological formations. The new equipment has been successfully mastered by specialists Ovezdurdy Kurbanov, Khojamurad Mammetjanov, Yusup Bayrammamedov, and Maksatmurat Makydjanov. Turkmen drillers continue to contribute to the development of the country’s oil and gas industry, striving for new achievements in the International Year of Peace and Trust.
