 Alexander Lukashenko wins the Presidential Election in Belarus according to exit poll results

Alexander Lukashenko, the incumbent President of Belarus, has won the election, securing 87.6% of the votes according to exit poll results. The BELTA agency reports this.

Polling stations in the Republic of Belarus closed at 8:00 PM local time. According to the Central Election Commission (CEC), voter turnout at the time of closing was 85.7%. Early voting in the presidential election saw 41.81% of citizens included in the voter lists casting their ballots.

Oleg Gaidukevich, a candidate for President of the Republic of Belarus, received 1.8% of the votes, Anna Kanopatskaya garnered 1.6%, and Alexander Lukashenko won 87.6%. Sergey Syrrankov obtained 2.7% of the votes from those surveyed, while Alexander Khizhnyak secured 1.2%. 5.1% of voters cast their ballots against all candidates.

The final press conference of the CEC of Belarus, "On the Preliminary Results of the Presidential Election of the Republic of Belarus" will be held on January 27.
