A programmer earning over $340,000 has complained about the high cost of living
25.01.2025 | 16:20 |IT specialist Austin Nasso from San Francisco expressed his dissatisfaction with the high expenses he faces despite an annual income of $340,000. He shared his concerns on his LinkedIn page.
The programmer expressed his discontent with the fact that after taxes, he is left with only $220,000. He pays $120,000 annually in taxes. Meanwhile, his monthly expenses amount to approximately $20,000.
Over the course of a month, Nasso spent $9,500 on rent, $1,300 on leasing a Tesla Cybertruck, $1,600 on delivered salads, $200 on laundry services, $2,300 on dating, $2,600 on skiing, $20 on a new shirt, and $1,800 on entertainment.
According to the IT specialist, working remotely 30 hours a week, he faces a monthly deficit of $1,000 due to high taxes. He struggles to understand how one can make ends meet in San Francisco with a salary of $340,000 per year, or approximately $28,300 per month, when nearly a third of that goes to taxes.
