President Berdimuhamedov gave tasks for the construction of new medical institutions
At a visiting government session in the village of Yzgant, dedicated to health issues, the President focused on the priority tasks facing the Turkmen medicine. The meeting was held in the conference hall of a new infectious diseases hospital, commissioned today. This is one more illustration of the ongoing work in the country on the prevention and treatment of dangerous infectious diseases, the Turkmen leader said, having submitted that the material and technical base of this sphere will be further strengthened. According to the President, the basic foundation of medicine in the prevention of physiological diseases is ecology. In this regard, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov paid special attention to the issues of medical care for the population in regions with unfavorable climatic conditions, such as the Aral Sea region. The head of state assigned to build a new hospital in Ashgabat with a scientific and clinical center of physiology for the prevention and treatment of non-communicable diseases. This medical institution will also study the negative impact of the Aral Sea on people’s health. In this context, the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry was instructed to develop a new National Program for the Prevention and Control of non-Communicable Diseases, and coordinate this program with the activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on saving the Aral Sea. The Turkmen leader also instructed to build a Research and Production Center for Virology, Bacteriology and Epidemiology. According to the President, this Center will conduct fundamental scientific research in the fields of Epidemiology, Molecular Microbiology and Molecular Biology, Immunology, Virology, Bacteriology, Genetic Engineering, Biotechnology, Ecology and Biosecurity. In addition, the head of state instructed to build a number of new pharmaceutical factories for complete support of the population with medicines.
