Iranian Customs Officials visited Ashgabat on a working visit

From January 21 to 22, 2025, a delegation from the Customs Administration of the Islamic Republic of Iran visited Ashgabat on a working visit. The purpose of the trip was to implement a joint work plan for the customs authorities of Turkmenistan and Iran for the period from 2025 to 2026. This was reported by the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.

During the visit, a working meeting was held between the customs services of both countries, where the results of cooperation in 2024 were discussed, along with matters related to cooperation at the Khovdan-Bajgiran, Artyk-Lotfabad, and Sarakhs-Sarakhs crossing points. Opportunities for increasing freight flows across customs borders, organizing effective customs control, and preventing violations during the movement of goods, including export and transit, were also discussed.

A decision was made to further develop cooperation in the field of authorized economic operators, the exchange of information on detected violations to prevent their recurrence, and to conduct joint activities to familiarize participants in foreign economic activities from both sides with customs regulations.

Following the meeting, the delegation visited the Control and Analytical Center of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, which had been launched just before their visit.

The working visit of the Iranian colleagues concluded with a tour of the Training Center of the State Customs Service and the International Customs Terminal.
