President of Turkmenistan meets with Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates
22.02.2025 | 09:00 |Yesterday, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with the Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who arrived in our country on a visit.
Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome and conveying to the head of state the greetings on behalf of the President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the Vice President, Prime Minister, Minister of Defense of the United Arab Emirates, Ruler of the Principality of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the guest emphasized the special attention of the UAE to building up constructive cooperation with brotherly Turkmenistan.
Having warmly welcomed the Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs of the UAE Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and addressed return greetings and best wishes to the leadership of the friendly state, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stated the great importance attached by the Turkmen side to the visits of high-level UAE delegations to our country.
As was emphasized, the interstate dialogue, which is friendly and fraternal in nature, is based on the principles of mutual respect, equality and mutually beneficial partnership. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in 1995. Since then, Turkmenistan and the UAE have consistently increased cooperation in the political and diplomatic, trade and economic, investment, energy, transport and logistics, and cultural and humanitarian fields. As for the political and diplomatic ties between our countries, they are strengthened through high-level visits and summit talks.
In the context of bilateral trade and economic partnership, a gradual increase in the volume of mutual trade turnover in various segments over the past years was noted. Active dynamics of cooperation, in particular, is observed in the energy, oil and gas, transport and agricultural sectors. Leading UAE companies are also involved in the implementation of large projects in the oil and gas, energy and construction industries on the territory of our country.
Speaking about the multilateral dialogue, the interlocutors noted the role of Turkmenistan's neutrality status and the UAE's strategic goals in the international arena in strengthening interstate relations.
As is known, the Resolution of the United Nations General Assembly, initiated by our country, declared 2025 the "International Year of Peace and Trust".
– This decision, naturally, is in line with the 30th anniversary of the recognition of neutrality status of Turkmenistan by the United Nations, – stated the head of state and presented an invitation to the upcoming international forum in Ashgabat on December 12 of this year, expressing confidence that the participation of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan in a major international event will be a major contribution to the significant strengthening of bilateral friendly relations.
