Many foreign publications note the unique features of the country, the originality of its cultural and natural heritage. Thus, in the list of the best places to travel in 2025 according to CNN Travel, Almaty was named the "new capital of style" of Central Asia. The city attracts with its dynamic cultural life, nightlife and amazing cuisine, and is of interest to those who appreciate unique natural landscapes and proximity to mountain peaks.

Condé Nast Traveller highlights the revival of traditional Kazakh cuisine, which has become an important factor in tourist attraction. The country is returning to its national roots and opening up to lovers of gastronomic tourism. Forbes Italia presents Kazakhstan as a trendy destination for lovers of leisurely tourism and authentic experiences. Direct flights between Kazakhstan and Italy contribute to the growth of tourist flows and the development of conscious and regenerative tourism.

The ministry said in a statement that American travel journalists had published a book, Almaty Through American Eyes, in which they shared their impressions of the cultural traditions and natural beauty of Kazakhstan. The authors’ stories about its attractions allowed Western audiences to see the country through the prism of local customs and gastronomy.

The new Japanese-language guidebook Globe Trotter Central Asia 2025-26 was also an important step in promoting Kazakhstan as a tourist destination. The publication includes detailed information about the country’s natural and cultural monuments, as well as the most popular places, such as the Charyn Canyon and Lake Kaindy. These and other publications present Kazakhstan as a country with a rich cultural heritage and natural diversity, attracting the attention of travelers from all over the world.

The tourism industry of Kazakhstan demonstrates stable dynamics. In 2024, the influx of foreign visitors exceeded 11.5 million people, which is almost twice as much as in 2023.

A study conducted by the Marketing and Analytics Department of the Almaty Tourism Bureau revealed that the average tourist in Almaty is a man aged 26-35, on average, he spends 5 days here, he spends $ 1,500 here, excluding flights.
