Japanese art of music and dance was presented in Ashgabat

On February 19, they visited the Turkmen National Conservatory named after Maya Kulieva, where Kikuchi Yutaka held a presentation lesson on playing the three-stringed plucked musical instrument shamisen, which, along with the biwa, koto and shakuhachi, is one of the main musical instruments of Japan. Chiho Ueda demonstrated her art in performing Japanese national dance.
At the meeting, the guests told the teachers and students of the conservatory about traditional Japanese culture, decorating their story with musical and dance numbers. In turn, the teachers and students of the conservatory in the specialty "folk musical instruments" presented the guests with Turkmen musical and song art. This meeting of two national cultures left a pleasant impression on all participants of the event.
The same interesting and emotionally charged meetings with Japanese artists took place on February 20 at the Special Music School named after D. Ovezov and at the Turkmen State Institute of Culture. Japanese cultural figures introduced young people to the features of the Kabuki theater, the performance of national dances and folk singing, and the student folklore and dance group "Miras" performed the popular Turkmen dance "Kushtdepdi". The guests also got acquainted with the exposition of the Institute's museum, which presents the rich historical and cultural heritage of the Turkmen people.
The program of Kikuchi Yutaka and Ueda Chiho's stay in Turkmenistan includes a performance at a reception in honor of Emperor Naruhito's birthday, which was organized by the Japanese Embassy on February 21. On February 23, the Japanese Emperor, who is a symbol of the state and the unity of the people, turns 65.
Musician Kikuchi Yutaka is known not only in Japan, he has toured abroad extensively, presenting national musical art in countries such as the United States, Spain, China, Germany and Romania. National Japanese dance performer Ueda Chiho, who graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts, one of the oldest and most prestigious higher education institutions in the arts in Japan, has also performed in many countries around the world. Her dance art made a great impression on the audience who participated in the events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Japan.
