The first-ever human-versus-humanoid robot marathon will take place in China

In April 2025, Beijing will host the world's first half-marathon featuring both human and humanoid robot participants.

This unique event, held in the Daxing district, is expected to gather approximately 12,000 human runners and dozens of humanoid robots. They will compete over a 21-kilometer distance. Robots from more than 20 companies will participate in the race.

The primary requirement for participating robots is a mechanical structure enabling bipedal locomotion, prohibiting the use of wheels. Robots must be between 0.5 and 2 meters in height and capable of autonomous or remote control. Battery replacement during the race is permitted.

This marathon is part of China's extensive program for the development of artificial intelligence and robotics.
