How stable “Natural Gas” supply is maintained in Turkmenistan

The “Shatlyk” gas compressor station, part of the “Gundogargazakdyrysh” department of the “Turkmengazakdyrysh” association, become a crucial component of Turkmenistan's energy system. Thanks to the efforts of specialists from the State Concern «Turkmengaz» and the station's gas workers, key objectives set by the President of Turkmenistan are being met: ensuring energy stability and reliable natural gas supply to consumers both domestically and abroad.

The station is located along the Dovletabat–Deryalyk main gas pipeline and services 65 kilometers of high-pressure gas pipelines. Through the first section of this facility, natural gas is exported and also meets the needs of the population, organizations, and enterprises of the Mary and Akhal provinces. The station employs over 300 specialists and gas workers whose labor guarantees the stability of the “natural gas” supply.

In 2024, a major overhaul of 1,200 meters of gas pipeline between the 5th and 7th kilometers of the first route was carried out at the station. Old pipes were replaced with new ones with a diameter of 1,422 millimeters, which increased the reliability of natural gas transportation. Additionally, to improve gas supply to the Sarahs etrap of the Akhal province, a new gas pipeline with a length of 9,441 meters was built, which increased gas supply to settlements. Furthermore, specialists replaced key gas regulating mechanisms and reconstructed 1,400 meters of inlet and outlet gas pipelines. Work on production units is also ongoing to improve the station's efficiency.

Experience and Professionalism of Employees

As noted by the head of the “Shatlyk” station, Muhammetnur Amangeldiyev, the station's team fully complies with technological requirements, ensuring the supply of natural gas through high-pressure main gas pipelines. A significant contribution to this work is made by the dispatcher of the gas compressor service, Rustem Seytiev, machinists Bayramgeldi Babaev, Yakub Saparov, Alty Mojekov, fueler Kovus Meredov, and other specialists.

The Future of Turkmenistan's Gas Industry

The introduction of modern technologies, large-scale reconstruction, and continuous development of the gas sector's infrastructure confirm the foresight of Turkmenistan's energy policy. The operation of the “Shatlyk” gas compressor station serves as an example of the effective use of national resources to meet domestic and foreign demand for natural gas.
