 11 Turkmen universities have entered the 2024 UI GreenMetric international ranking

In 2024, 11 Turkmen higher educational institutions were included in the prestigious UI GreenMetric international ranking, which measures universities' efforts to improve environmental infrastructure and their contribution to sustainable development in environmental protection.

This ranking was established by the University of Indonesia in 2010.

The highest positions among Turkmen universities were achieved by the Oguz han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan and the Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Niyazov. These universities entered the top 500 in the global ranking. They demonstrated high performance in areas such as infrastructure and educational initiatives.

Additionally, the following universities entered the top 1,000 universities worldwide:

- International Equestrian Academy named after Aba Annayev;

- Turkmen Agricultural Institute;

- International Oil and Gas University named after Yagshygeldi Kakayev;

- Telecommunications and Informatics Institute of Turkmenistan;

- Turkmenistan Engineering and Transport Communication Institute;

- Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute;

- State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan;

- Turkmen State Financial Institute;

- Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after Seyitnazar Seydi.

The inclusion of Turkmen universities in the international ranking reflects active efforts to implement environmentally sustainable approaches in management and education. This also strengthens the country’s international image and highlights its commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
