The exhibition "Divanu Lugati t-Turk" will be presented in the Turkic world
13.11.2024 | 12:05 |The Turkic world will host an exhibition dedicated to the first Turkic dictionary "Divanu Lugati t-Turk". This work is the common heritage of the Turkic world.
The organizers of the exhibition are the Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation and the Turkic World Foundation. The event is dedicated to the 11th summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States.
The purpose of the exhibition is to emphasize the civilizational role of the Turkic peoples and introduce visitors to the rich cultural heritage. The exhibition also emphasizes the value of the contents of the dictionary, which turns 950 years old this year.
Visitors will be able to see a variety of items related to Turkic culture, as well as a comparative map of Turkestan, demonstrating the historical changes in the region.
A special place is occupied by the clothing collection created by designer Ezgi Karayel, who was inspired by the descriptions from the "Divan Lugati t-Turk". Visitors will be able to see both men's and women's clothing, recreated according to ancient samples.
The exhibition has already opened in the National History Museum of Kyrgyzstan.
By the end of 2025, the exhibition will visit various countries, primarily the countries of the Turkic world.
