Music that has become popular: the Turkmen Conservatory celebrated Rejep Rejepov's anniversary

Truly, this can be said about the works of the outstanding Turkmen composer Rejep Rejepov. Many of the works he created have long since become popular with the people. He is a great professional in his field, a magnificent melodist, teacher, author of a huge number of works and simply a kind and sincere person. He occupies a prominent place in the musical culture of our country.
This year, the music community is celebrating the anniversary of the beloved composer - 80 years since his birth. The Turkmen National Conservatory named after Maya Kulieva did not stand aside: the current week was marked by a number of events dedicated to this event. It is not surprising, because here Rejep Rejepov worked for a long time, he is remembered not only as a great composer, but also as a wonderful teacher, ready to share with his students everything that he himself possessed.
The concert, which took place in the large hall of the Turkmen National Conservatory on November 5, became a vivid proof of this. Of course, it is impossible to present to the listeners everything that the composer wrote in one concert, but the organizers and performers still tried to cover various genres as much as possible.
The music of Rejep Rejepov is always memorable melodies, bright and light images, each piece is a separate story. The program of the anniversary concert included some of the most striking pieces created by Rejep Rejepov in different years. The first piece that sounded from the stage of the large hall was the Quintet-poem performed by Camerata Ashgabat under the direction of Bahram Dolyev. The Quintet-poem is a composition that occupies a special place in the work of the famous composer, filled with deep meaning. Its performance requires great professionalism and skill, and the group familiar to many music lovers coped with this task perfectly.
That evening, the audience was also treated to vocal works. Among them were such songs as “Bagtyyar Eyle”, “Yalnyz Yoda”, “Sana”, “Daglar” and many others. The guests also heard the famous, beloved Lullaby from the film “Gelin”.
In addition to the students of the vocal and instrumental departments of the Turkmen National Conservatory, People's Artists of Turkmenistan Atageldi Garyagdyev, Atajan Berdiyev, Gozel Ovezova, Suvhan Orazberdiyev, and Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Ayna Seyitkulieva took to the stage. All the works were accompanied by the symphony orchestra of the conservatory, artistic director of which is People's Artist of Turkmenistan Ashir Khodzhatov. Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Rasul Klychev and Kovus Byashimov acted as conductors.
The operatic works of Rejep Rejepov were not left without attention. Excerpts from the opera "Gorogly" were performed by Begench Gayipov and the choir. The song "Berkararlyk Aydymy" to the verses of G. Kakabayev, performed by soloists and the choir of the Turkmen National Conservatory, sounded solemnly and festively. This bright work became a wonderful conclusion to the event dedicated to the anniversary of the famous composer, whose work will leave its mark on the heart of every listener for a long time.
