Oriented on making people closer

On September 13-14, the stadium of the Cultural and Sports Center of LLC «Gazprom dobycha Astrakhan» hosted a mini-football tournament dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Makhtumkuli Fraghi. The event was organized by the Consulate of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation (Astrakhan).

The teams of representatives of the Turkmen Diaspora from Astrakhan Oblast and Stavropol Krai, as well as the Consulate's team, whose players are students from Turkmenistan studying in higher educational institutions of Astrakhan, took part in the competition.

In his welcoming speech, the Consul of Turkmenistan noted that Makhtumkuli Fraghi had a special place in the formation of Turkmen national culture. Being the founder of the Turkmen literary language, he played a significant role in the subsequent formation of basic moral and ethical categories. Good-neighborliness, unity, the height and unattainability of family values, spiritual enlightenment - these and many other aspects of his poetry served as a foundation for the entire subsequent Turkmen poetic school.

The main purpose of organizing and holding this soccer tournament is to further strengthen the bonds of friendship and good-neighborliness between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation, as well as to promote a healthy lifestyle, develop physical culture and sports.

Following the results of the tournament, which was held in a friendly atmosphere, the prize-winning teams were awarded cups and medals, especially distinguished players were awarded the titles of “Best Player”, “Best Striker”, “Best Goalkeeper”.
