Unified E-learning platform “E-mekdep” for teachers, parents, and students launched in Turkmenistan

The Innovation and Information Center of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan launched the “E-mekdep” (“Electronic School”) service, a digital version of a student's diary. The service provides online information about the student’s academic performance, class participation, lesson plans, topics studied, homework assignments, teacher's notes, and more.

The unified platform for teachers, parents, and schoolchildren is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, allowing real-time monitoring of the learning process via SMS, online, or through the “E-mekdep” mobile app, enabling communication with its participants and providing access to information about teachers, etc.

As reported on the website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, the “E-mekdep” platform is currently implemented in all secondary education schools in Ashgabat and Arkadag cities, and work is underway to install it in the school education system of other regions of the country.

Similar services are widespread in many countries around the world, but according to the developers, the Turkmen version, unlike foreign analogues, also has a module for analyzing a student’s personal development.

The implementation of the “E-mekdep” platform began in 2021, and since then it has been tested and refined in a number of secondary schools. The full-scale deployment of the system from the new academic year will give another impetus to the development of school education in the country at a modern level.

Currently, the “E-mekdep” system is fully operational, and its mobile application can be downloaded from Google Play or the App Store.
