Oriented on making people closer

On Thursday, April 18, Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, Dunyagozel Gulmanova, accepted letters of credence from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Angola, Augusto da Silva Cunha.

On behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the head of the national parliament congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in strengthening friendly relations between the two countries.

Speaking about future cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Angola, the diplomat noted that his country is very interested in strengthening bilateral relations in all areas.

During the meeting, the importance of developing cooperation in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as at the parliamentary level, was emphasized.

On the same day, the Ambassador of Angola was received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. Here he met with Deputy Foreign Minister Akhmed Gurbanov. The diplomats discussed issues of strengthening relations, noted the positive experience of multilateral cooperation within the framework of authoritative regional and international organizations, including the importance of mutual support for international endeavors and initiatives.

The Deputy Minister thanked the Ambassador of Angola for supporting the adoption on December 21, 2023 of the UN resolution on transport “Strengthening connections between all modes of transport to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals” proposed by Turkmenistan.
