 A meeting of heads of railway administrations of OSJD member countries will be held in Ashgabat

The 38th meeting of the Conference of responsible representatives of railway transport organizations of member countries of the Organization for Cooperation between Railways (OSJD) will be held in Ashgabat on April 15-19.

The agenda of the event includes consideration of the results of the activities of specialized Commissions and permanent working groups of the Organization for 2023, discussion of the Work Program for the coming years, studying the feasibility of developing a draft Development Strategy of the Organization, professional training and education of employees of the railway system, etc.

Information about this was announced at a meeting of the Turkmen government on Friday, April 12.

According to the OSJD website, heads of railway administrations will consider for approval draft amendments and additions to the Harmonized Nomenclature of Freight with their entry into force from 1 June 2024, as well as changes to the Regulations for the creation and maintenance of the List of Freight Stations of OSJD Railways with entry into force from May 15, 2024.

This high-level OSJD event will allow us to evaluate joint successes in the field of transport over the past year, set guidelines for the future and provide new incentives for interaction between the international railway community. The Ashgabat forum will also mark the 30th anniversary of the Turkmen Railways agency’s membership in the Organization.

The upcoming event will continue a series of important events initiated by Turkmenistan within the framework of transport diplomacy actively pursued by the government of the country.
