Microsoft has appointed a new head of Windows and Surface

Pavan Davuluri, graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras has been appointed as the new head of the Microsoft division responsible for developing the Windows operating system and Surface devices.

Until this point, Davuluri was the head of the Surface division.

As head of Windows and Surface, Pavan Davuluri will report to Microsoft Vice President and Head of Experiences and Devices Rajesh Jha.

Davuluri worked at Microsoft for over 23 years and was actively involved in collaborations with Qualcomm and AMD to develop processors for Surface devices.

The decision to replace the head of the Microsoft division responsible for the development of the Windows operating system followed after the company's chief product officer, Panos Panay, left Microsoft last year. He has long led the development of Windows and Surface devices.

After this, the division was divided: the development of Surface devices was headed by Pavan Davuluri, and the Windows and web services division was headed by Mikhail Parakhin.
