The 42nd Fajr International Film Festival was held in Tehran
11.02.2024 | 23:43 |Turkmen film director Sahysalyh Bayramov, among the representatives of the film studios of the region, was invited as an honorary guest to the 42nd Fajr International Film Festival, which was held in Tehran from February 1 to 11. 621 works from 87 countries were submitted to the festival, 33 films by authors from 70 countries were shown in 10 days.
And at the closing ceremony on Sunday evening, the audience was shown a fragment from a full-length Iranian movie, "filmed" by artificial intelligence. Then the winners in different categories were awarded prizes.
During the festival, in addition to screenings, filmmakers from different countries participated in review meetings, discussions about the future of the film industry and trends in the market of feature and documentary films, innovations in the production of video content, paying attention to both national and global topics and focusing on cultural diversity as an advantage in this art form and on the development of international relations.
The organizers of the festival noted that over the past two years, 250 more theaters have been added to the existing 570 cinemas in Iran, and there is an intention to increase their number to 1,000. To date, 4,300 feature films, short films, and documentaries are produced in the country per year.
