Dragon Oil will begin development of three new fields near Cheleken
08.01.2024 | 08:04 |The Dubai company Dragon Oil will begin developing three promising fields near Cheleken within the framework of a memorandum signed between the company and the government of Turkmenistan. Previously, the company’s specialists carried out seismic exploration in these territories worth $35 million. The analysis showed that Block 19 is quite promising, Zawya reports.
“The company plans to expand investments in three oil fields with the aim of increasing production in the near future. Turkmenistan is a very important oil country and has enormous oil and gas potential. We strive to strengthen our presence there through new investments that will have a positive impact on both sides, on the one hand, increasing state income from revenues and creating new jobs, especially since the company has more than 2,000 employees in Turkmenistan alone,” the chairman of the Board of Directors of Dragon Oil Al Tayer said.
The company has been operating in Turkmenistan for 24 years. During this time, it implemented a number of projects in the country, including the effective development of Western Turkmen oil fields. A new page in the history of cooperation was opened during the recent visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the UAE.
