Appointments in the system of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan: two deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs were replaced
11.12.2023 | 23:25 |President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting on Friday with the participation of members of the government, the State Security Council and heads of diplomatic missions of Turkmenistan abroad, during which he announced a number of personnel decisions in the Foreign Ministry system.
The Head of State replaced two Deputy Foreign Ministers – Vepa Hajiyev and Berdiniyaz Matiyev.
Vepa Hajiyev was awarded the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, and he was appointed to the post of the NWP of Turkmenistan in the Swiss Confederation, as well as the permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN office in Geneva.
Hajiyev replaced Atageldi Haljanov in this post, who was dismissed from the posts of ambassador and permanent representative to the UN Geneva office, as well as from the post of Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Vatican, permanent representative to UNON, UNEP, UN-HABITAT in connection with the transition to another job.
With the same wording, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Berdiniyaz Matiyev was dismissed from his post.
Ahmet Gurbanov and Serdar Muhammetdurdiyev became the new deputy foreign Ministers.
Ahmet Gurbanov was previously dismissed from the posts of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Iran and Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the Economic Cooperation Organization.
And Serdar Muhammetdurdiyev, who is the head of the Department of State Protocol and International Relations of the Office of the President of Turkmenistan, will combine this position with the post of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
In addition, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to India, Shalar Geldinazarov, has also been appointed Ambassador to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
