The film "Daragt” by Turkmen director Sahysalyh Bayramov was awarded a special diploma from the chairman of the jury of the XXIX Minsk International Film Festival “Listapad” Igor Ugolnikov, a famous Russian actor, film director, screenwriter, producer and TV presenter.
The special diploma "For fidelity to historical traditions” arrived in Ashgabat from the Belarusian capital along with another award awarded to the film – the special prize “Cinema without Borders” from the CIS Executive Committee. The competition trophies were awarded to the director of Turkmenfilm, who was unable to personally attend the award ceremony of the Minsk Festival, as at that time he participated as an honorary guest in another film forum in Bishkek.
We reported that the Turkmen film “Daragt” (for the Belarusian audience it was translated as “The Tree of Destiny”), which was included in the Listapada competition program, was awarded a special prize at the end of the festival.
But when the prize statuette with stars was delivered to the intended recipient, it turned out to be a pleasant surprise for him to receive a special diploma “For loyalty to historical traditions” with the signature of the famous Igor Ugolnikov.
The film “Daragt” is a story about love, loyalty, hope and our common history, about moral values that are important for any person, no matter what country he lives in.
The XXIX Minsk International Film Festival Listapad was held from November 17 to 24 in the capital and other cities of Belarus. This year, a record number of applications were submitted to the festival – 2,087 from 107 countries, including Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
Once again, congratulations to Sahysalyh on his well-deserved awards and we believe that this is just the beginning of his creative career, which promises us new interesting paintings!
