Oriented on making people closer

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the importance of regional cooperation and connectivity and reaffirmed his country's commitment to the speedy completion of the TAPI pipeline.

He stated this during a meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, who is on a visit to Islamabad.

Shehbaz Sharif expressed satisfaction with the holding of the 3rd round of Pakistan-Turkmenistan bilateral political consultations under the leadership of the Foreign Ministers and noted the need for regular interaction within the institutional mechanisms between the two countries. He also emphasized the need to expand trade, economic, investment and cultural relations between Pakistan and Turkmenistan.

The Prime Minister fondly recalled his meeting in Astana with the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty earlier this month and said that he looked forward to welcoming Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Pakistan in the near future, Radio Pakistan reported.
