SpaceX's Starlink satellite dish has become larger and more powerful
18.11.2023 | 15:08 |The American company SpaceX has updated its Starlink satellite dish.
The company published characteristics, images and videos about the new antenna on its website. The antenna has increased slightly in size - compared to the second generation Starlink home antenna, the length of the new model is 60 cm. The new product has also become more powerful - average power consumption has increased from 75 to 100 W. This is 25 W higher than its predecessor.
But the most noticeable change is the absence of a rotating antenna in the stand. The company left only a support for adjusting the angle of inclination. The antenna can also be attached to the roof of the house.
The new model has a higher level of water resistance - IP67, providing dust resistance and the ability to withstand immersion in water up to a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes.
The new satellite dish is aimed at residential users and is designed to improve the quality of broadband communications. SpaceX plans to sell the antenna with the new Gen 3 router. The router supports Wi-Fi 6 and has two Ethernet ports.
