Experts from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries have agreed upon the draft regulations for the «Commonwealth» International Film Festival at an additional meeting held online on March 12, 2025.

The experts reviewed the comments and suggestions received from the countries, finalized and agreed upon the document, which will be submitted for consideration by the CIS Council of Heads of Government, scheduled for June 5, 2025, in the city of Dushanbe (Republic of Tajikistan).

The initiative to create the film festival belongs to Kazakhstan. The film festival will be aimed at developing cooperation in the field of cinematography and promoting national film industries. It is planned to be held every two years, alternately in each participating country in alphabetical order.
