Oriented on making people closer

On March 10-11, a grand opening ceremony of the advanced training courses of the Lu Ban Workshop, as well as a working meeting, was held at the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, Deputy Secretary of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, employees of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Turkmenistan, representatives of the branch of the Chinese company CNPC in Turkmenistan, Xi'an Petroleum University, Hebei Petroleum Vocational and Technical University and Shaanxi Vocational and Technical College. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

During the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the People's Republic of China in 2023, a proposal to promote the Lu Ban Workshop project was put forward in the joint Declaration of Turkmenistan and the PRC. In this regard, in 2024, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed in Xi'an (PRC) between the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University, Xi'an Petroleum University, Hebei Petroleum Vocational and Technical University, China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and the China Association for International Education Exchange.

As part of the tasks stipulated by the memorandum, representatives of the Chinese delegation got acquainted with the structure of the International Petroleum University, academic buildings, research and training centers, laboratories, areas of specialist training, as well as scientific research conducted at the university.

During the meeting, issues related to construction and installation work on the creation of the Lu Ban workshop, providing laboratories with equipment, as well as the opening of advanced training courses for university teachers in the areas of "Geology and exploration of mineral resources" and "Information systems and technologies (in the oil and gas industry)" were discussed together with the Chinese side. Following the ceremony, the participants were awarded the relevant certificates.

In addition, in accordance with the joint educational program, issues of selection and enrollment of talented graduates of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University for training in the master's program of Xi'an Petroleum University in 2025, as well as cooperation in the field of comprehensive study of regions of the world and individual countries were discussed.
