FIFA considers launching its own cryptocurrency token

The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) is actively exploring the possibility of launching its own cryptocurrency token, potentially named FIFA Coin.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino stated that this initiative aims to engage over 5 billion fans worldwide.

During a White House crypto summit, Infantino emphasized FIFA's interest in utilizing blockchain technologies to enhance fan interaction. He also noted that the token could serve as a significant tool for creating new opportunities within the realm of football and expanding the fan base.

"If there is anyone here who wishes to collaborate with FIFA, we are open", Infantino declared.

Furthermore, FIFA has already announced the launch of the mobile game FIFA Rivals featuring NFT cards, further indicating its commitment to integrating modern technologies into its operations.

A token represents a form of asset or value on a blockchain. This can include virtual currency, stocks and other securities, artwork, real estate, and other asset examples.

Tokens can be traded, bought, and sold, much like coins. They are also used to gain access to specific applications or platforms.
