The pupil of the Turkmen football struck a symbolic blow in the match Russia - Cameroon

Valery Nepomnyashchy struck a symbolic blow to the ball before the start of the friendly match Russia - Cameroon.

Nepomnyashchy coached the Cameroon national team from 1988 to 1990, under his leadership the African team achieved the best result in history at the World Championships. At the 1990 World Cup, Cameroonians reached the quarterfinals of the world Championship.

Recall that Valery Nepomnyashchy is one of the most respected and experienced coaches of Turkmen football, whose name is known and appreciated throughout Central Asia - and not only.

He devoted his life to football and gave a lot to this sport. His coaching career spans more than 50 years, during which he worked with different teams and national teams.

In the USSR, the Nepomnyashchikh family lived in the Turkmen city of Kizil-Arvat. Starting from the 8th grade, Valery Nepomnyashchy played professionally in a brass and pop orchestra. He was engaged in basketball and athletics, from the 10th grade - football. He played for the national team of schoolchildren of the republic, the national team of the university.

Valery Kuzmich Nepomnyashchy started his football career in the Ashgabat SKIF. Then he played for Spartak Samarkand. After that, he returned to Ashgabat, where he played for Lokomotiv.

His playing career ended early - at the age of 25: he had health problems. But he did not leave football and became a coach. At first he worked at the Ashgabat FSM, where he educated young football players for eight years, and since 1979 he became the coach of Kolkhozchi (now Kopetdag), the best club in the republic.

In 1982, Nepomnyashchem was assigned to coach the youth national team of the Turkmen SSR, and then returned to the FSM again.

In 1988, he received an offer from abroad. He became the head coach of the Cameroon national team, which he led to the 1990 World Cup and performed a miracle by reaching the quarterfinals, removing the Argentine national team with Maradona from the way.

After this feat, Nepomnyashchy became a sought-after coach. He managed to work in Turkey, China, South Korea and Japan, and left good impressions almost everywhere.

In 2006, Valery Kuzmich decided to return to Central Asia. He headed "Pakhtakor" and the national team of Uzbekistan. He managed to become the national champion with Pakhtakor and lead the republic's national team to the Asian Cup, but due to health problems, Nepomnyashchy was forced to leave for Russia, where he became the coach of Tomi, which was his main team during his work in Russia.

In 2018, Nepomnyashchy completed his coaching career, but even now he says that if he gets a call from Tom and is asked to help, he will consider the offer.
