Doctors all over the world perform a great feat around the clock, combating coronavirus infection. Doctors do not spare their health, and literally sacrifice themselves to save others. One of these heroes is Russian doctor, anesthetist-resuscitator Denis Nikolayevich Protsenko.

The head physician of the Moscow hospital at Kommunarka, Candidate of Medicine Denis Protsenko is from Turkmenistan. He grew up in sunny Ashgabat, in a family of doctors, and it can be said that fate itself predetermined his life path. Most of his home library consisted of medical encyclopedias, so when it was time to go to college, Denis chose the Turkmen State Medical Institute.

Later, the Protsenko family moved to Moscow, where the young man would graduate from the I.M. Sechenov Medical Academy in Moscow, and medical practice would become for the doctor not just a profession, but a vocation. He would write a number of scientific methodological recommendations, become a laureate of the Moscow City Prize in the field of medicine, always standing on guard of the health of his patients.

Denis Protsenko faced the peak of COVID-19 pandemic, which spread over almost the whole world, at his working “post”. The first Moscow patients with suspected new type of viral infection were brought to Kommunarka. The City Clinical Hospital No. 40 has become the most talked about place, and the name of the head doctor is mentioned in the media daily.

Not leaving the hospital around the clock, the doctor and his colleagues selflessly fulfill their duty. His fellow countrymen learned about the exploits of Denis Nikolaevich from news releases. Someone remembers Protsenko from the Ashgabat sports school, and someone lived with the future doctor on the same street. Those who do not know the doctor personally were happy to find out that their compatriot helps people return to life.

“Your countrymen are proud of you!”, people write in social networks of Denis. And in the light of recent events, moral support is very important for the doctor. Working for wear, constantly being amidst the infected patients, Denis Protsenko could not protect himself from the virus. Recently his test for COVID-19 has shown a positive case. However, the doctor did not abandon his service; he is still struggling for his and his patients’ lives, working remotely from his medical office.

“Dear friends, I am deeply moved by your concern. Yes, I have a positive CoV case, but I feel quite good. I got isolated in my office, where there are all conditions for remote work, management and telemedicine consultations. I think that the immunity developed over this month works well”, Denis Protsenko wrote on his page on social networking sites.

Not only the Russians, but all his countrymen are worried about the doctor’s health, wishing Denis Nikolayevich a speedy recovery.

“Yes, people who lived in Turkmenistan are special! They, warmed by the sun, give all their warmth and soul kindness! Those who lived in Ashgabat will agree with me that these all are very friendly and hospitable people, always ready to help in difficult times! And may God grant health in this difficult job! Peace and a speedy recovery to all!”, Lyudmila Kasimova, compatriot of Denis, writes.
