Italian opera diva “gave” the greatest arias of Giuseppe Verdi to Turkmen music lovers

The opera music of the great Giuseppe Verdi was performed in Ashgabat on the stage of the Magtymguly Music and Drama Theater. The concert with the participation of Italian opera diva Maria Pia Piscitelli and the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan conducted by Rasul Klychev took place on June 3. The evening was dedicated to the 210th anniversary of the outstanding Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi.

Of course, the Italian opera singer Maria Pia Piscitelli became a real gem of the program. Her voice - large in range and volume of sound, timbrely luxurious and rich in "velvet" nuances, operatic and academically regal - "bewitched" the hall literally from the first notes. And the artistic transformation of the singer with a psychologically subtle penetration into different images, coupled with vocal drama, was combined with the impeccability of Verdi's style.

The audience especially admired Leonora's aria "Pace, pace mio Dio!" from the opera "Force of Destiny", performed temperamentally, freely and expressively. On the contrary, a duet with Nury Nuryev sounded excited and reverent - the artists sang "Parigi, o cara" from the famous "La Traviata". And the real gifts in the style of Verdi's "dramatic cantilena" were Amelia's aria "Morro, ma prima in grazia" from the opera “Un Ballo in Maschera» and Elizabeth's aria "Tu che la vanita" from “Don Carlos”. These works fully "revealed" the singer's wonderful ability to amazingly subtle, soulful, but at the same time emphatically dramatic nuances.

The stage, one might say, was “blazing” from a powerful energy discharge that the singer emitted and shared this fire with the conductor and orchestra, merging with them into a single whole. By the way, the orchestra performed that evening not only as a sensitive and attentive ally of the soloist, but also acted as an interpreter, who became part of the orchestral numbers.

Artists and musicians also presented to the audience arias, duets and orchestral numbers from Giuseppe Verdi's famous operas "La Traviata", "Un Ballo in Maschera", "Don Carlos", "Rigoletto", "Il Trovatore", "Otello", "Forces of Destiny" and " Macbeth. The concert program was built in such a way that the dynamics of emotionality and listener's perception developed incrementally.
