UNDP Turkmenistan celebrates World Environment Day on the Caspian coast

Thus, the UNDP held an educational session for children who are resting on summer holidays in the Dayanch children's health center. The event was held with the participation of the UNDP Permanent Representative in Turkmenistan Narine Sahakyan.
This year's World Environment Day is dedicated to solving the problem of plastic pollution. In this regard, representatives of the younger generation learned about the role that every inhabitant of the planet can play as part of global efforts to combat climate change.
Particular attention was paid during the session to the protection of oceans and seas, the rational use of marine resources.
On the shore of the Caspian Sea, classes in fine art and modeling of various figures from plaster were organized for children.
The events are organized within the framework of the project "Sustainable Cities in Turkmenistan: Integrated development of Green Cities in Ashgabat and Avaza", which is implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan and UNDP with funding from the Global Environment Facility (GEF).
