Art has no boundaries: diplomats from different countries showed their paintings at an exhibition in Moscow

Portraits, still lifes, landscapes - more than 150 paintings in total, painted by employees of foreign diplomatic missions accredited in Moscow, are exhibited at the "Colors of the World" vernissage. The exhibition opened on Tuesday at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art. It was organized by the Russian Foreign Ministry together with doyen of the diplomatic corps in Moscow, ambassador of Azerbaijan Polad Bulbul oglu, TASS reports.

The exposition presents creative works of diplomats of embassies and consulates from different parts of the world: countries of Africa, Latin America, Southeast Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

Visitors to the exhibition saw works of art of various genres: painting, graphics, art objects, examples of ancient calligraphy and national crafts from diplomatic missions covering almost all regions of the globe. The organizers noted that this project is being implemented in the context of "the idea of the enduring value of interaction between representatives of different countries, peoples, cultures and traditions."

“Art is a landmark and a guiding star in the rapid cycle of modernity. And no matter how eloquent and weighty diplomatic notes, dispatches and messages are, works of art are sometimes able to express what cannot be expressed in words. And when diplomats skillfully master not only the pen, but also the brush, this is doubly convincing,” Andrei Rudenko, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia said.
