Official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Malaysia has begun
19.12.2024 | 00:20 |On December 18, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov left for an official visit to Malaysia.
Development of constructive relations with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region is one of the priority areas of Turkmenistan's foreign policy, based on the principles of neutrality, peacefulness, mutually beneficial and equal cooperation with all interested countries of the world.
Turkmenistan and Malaysia are linked by friendly relations based on the traditions of mutual respect. Currently, cooperation between our countries is successfully developing within the framework of international organizations, in particular, within the framework of the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Non-Aligned Movement and other international organizations.
The role of mutual high-level visits in the development of interstate cooperation is great. A clear confirmation of this are the official and state visits of National Leader of the Turkmen People Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Malaysia in 2011 and 2016, as well as the visits of the heads of government of the friendly country to Turkmenistan in 2014 and 2019. The bilateral documents signed during the previous visits create a reliable contractual and legal basis for cooperation.
This first visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Malaysia and the upcoming high-level talks will be another step in deepening traditional relations and expanding their scope.
