The festive spectrum of June: from Children's Day to Eid al–Adha - what we celebrate in the first month of summer

One of the brightest events of the first month of summer in Turkmenistan promises to be the International Dance and Folklore Festival Awaza-2023, which will be held on the shores of the Caspian Sea on June 13-16. Creative teams from Iran, Belarus, India, Kazakhstan, China, Russia, Romania, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and other countries confirmed their participation in it.

In addition to concert performances, competitions, master classes, exhibitions, the festival program will also include a scientific conference dedicated to the study of folklore and folk dance traditions.

This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister for Culture Mahrijemal Mammedova at a meeting of the Turkmen government on Friday, presenting a plan of cultural events for the upcoming month.

The June program starts with festive celebrations and festivities on the occasion of the International Children's Day. On June 2, the summer holiday season starts in the children's health resort of Gokdere and traditionally the departure of bus "caravans" with schoolchildren to the camps takes place, which is accompanied by fun performances.

On June 3, the World Bicycle Day is celebrated, in honor of which every year a mass bike ride, physical culture, sports and wellness events are held in the country.

World Environment Day on June 5 is also included in the list of festive dates in Turkmenistan, scientific conferences, exhibitions and other events with the participation of the academic community, youth, environmental organizations, etc. are dedicated to it.

The next date is June 12. In Turkmenistan, this is Science Day, when the results of scientific competitions are summed up, young researchers, innovators and innovators are honored for successful experiments and bold promising ideas, industry symposiums and other scientific and popularization events are held.

Another holiday – the Day of Workers of Culture and Art, as well as poetry of Magtymguly Pyragy is celebrated on June 27. This is the case when a day turns into a week. Every year, a Culture Week is timed to coincide with this Day, the venue of which is rotated by regions of the country. This year, Ashgabat is hosting the Week, so a series of creative diverse events will be held in the capital from June 22.

In addition, at the end of the month, as always, a wide and generous celebration of Eid al–Adha awaits us for three days - on June 28, 29 and 30.
