Oriented on making people closer

The Turkmen delegation headed by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan Begmyrat Atayev made a presentation on the Aral Sea issues within the parallel event of the 79th session of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), which is taking place in Bangkok.

The speech of the Turkmen diplomats was devoted to the implementation of the Aral Sea Assistance Program, whose goal is to improve the water management, environmental and socio-economic situation in the drying sea basin, the Turkmen diplomatic mission in Malaysia reports.

The Turkmen delegation hopes to raise awareness about the consequences of the Aral crisis. In addition, representatives of Turkmenistan spoke about national measures to offset the negative effects of a regional environmental disaster.
