Oriented on making people closer

The Turkmen delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection Begmyrat Atayev is taking part in discussions on climate change at the 79th session of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific.

The event started on May 15 at the UN Conference Center in Bangkok (Thailand).

The theme of the session is "Accelerating climate action in the Asia-Pacific region for sustainable development". The main goal of the meeting is to strengthen regional cooperation between states in the field of eco-policy, the Turkmen Embassy in Malaysia reports.

Among the main objectives of ESCAP, in addition to building up socio-economic and cultural-humanitarian partnership between the countries of the region, is to establish constructive interaction to coordinate joint efforts to protect the environment.
