Iran is developing programs to protect Caspian seals
24.04.2023 | 17:13 |Iran's Environmental Protection Department is developing a program to protect Caspian seals, the Tehran Times reports.
The annexes to the already existing convention will fix an unfavorable conservation status for this animal, which greatly contributes to the expansion of cooperation in the field of marine ecosystems with neighboring countries.
In addition, now the Iranian government will undertake to ensure the legal security of rare species of turtles, including the Euphrates soft—shelled turtle, the only one in its family, and its neighbor, the Caspian turtle, will not remain on the sidelines.
The National Plan covers not only the protection of the fauna of the marine ecosystem of the Caspian Sea, but also the waters of the Persian, Hormuz and Oman Gulfs.
