 Turkmenistan is represented at the General Assembly of the Asian Alliance for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage

Turkmenistan's Ambassador to China Parahat Durdyyev took part in the General Assembly of the Asian Alliance for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage in Xi'an, the administrative center of Shaanxi Province in northwest China. ORIENT was informed about this by the diplomatic mission of Turkmenistan in China.

Turkmenistan was invited to the General Assembly as an honorary guest. At the event, Parahat Durdyyev informed the participants about the cultural heritage of Turkmenistan, the work carried out in the country to preserve historical monuments. The diplomat also familiarized the audience with the books of the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The General Assembly of the Asian Alliance for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage gathered experts from over 20 Asian countries, representatives of three key international organizations on cultural heritage — UNESCO, the International Center for the Study, Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Values and the International Alliance for the Protection of Heritage in Conflict Zones.

The participants officially launched the Asian Fund for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage, adopted the Xi'an Declaration of the Alliance, and opened a Joint Research Center for the Archeology of the Silk Road.

At the Conference "Promoting Dialogue among Civilizations and Shaping the Future of Asia" in Beijing in May 2019, Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed China's willingness to work with other countries to protect Asian cultural heritage and better preserve and support civilizations.

In this regard, during the first Asian Dialogue on the Preservation of Cultural Heritage in November 2021, 10 countries, including China, initiated an Alliance for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage in Asia.
