 The Turkmen tennis player won a silver medal at the Asian Championship

Turkmen athlete Ilima Guseynova was awarded a silver medal at the final stage of the Asian Tennis Championship, which was held in Bhubaneswar, India.

A pupil of the capital's Tennis Academy competed in doubles with Uzbek athlete Emilia Kim.

It should be noted that Ilima Huseynova took part in the Central and West Asian team, where she was selected following the results of the regional qualification tournament in Bahrain held in January this year.

According to the results of the qualifying stage of the Central and West Asian Championships, Huseynova scored the required number of points, having received an invitation from the International Tennis Federation (ITF) to perform in the final part of the competition.

In addition to the Central and West Asian national teams, athletes from Kazakhstan, Indonesia, India, Iran, Hong Kong, the Republic of Korea, Kuwait, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Syria, Thailand, Vietnam, as well as teams from South, Southeast and East Asia took part in the Asian Under-14 Championship.

The championship, which started on April 4, consisted of two consecutive tournaments. According to the regulations, the athletes performed in singles and doubles. The Continental Championship ended on April 14.
