PETRONAS plans to reduce emissions and waste in Turkmenistan
26.11.2019 | 09:29 |Supporting the ecological initiatives of Turkmenistan, «PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn Bhd» has introduced a comprehensive sustainability environmental plan. The measures planned in it are directed to strengthening of nature protection component in activity of the Malaysian oil and gas giant in the territory of the country and in particular, near industrial facilities. In the focus – adoption of measures by the company to reduce emissions and waste, and also ensure rational use of energy and water.
The "Climate Change" campaign for 2019-2020 designed to improve the environmental actions at its surrounding facilities, conduct of awareness sessions on environment protection, organization of competitions to promote climate change and regular ecological actions.
Departments of PETRONAS also had carried out engagements and presented to the PC(T)SB management, subcontractor representatives, management of the State Service Hazar Ecological Control and PC(T)SB staff. The presentation was on the obligations of the relevant parties in accordance with the international conventions, protocols on Climate Change, and PETRONAS’ requirements on environmental protection.
Since March, 2019 in cooperation with sub-contractors PETRONAS has planted about 3 thousand trees in the territory adjoining to its objects in Turkmenistan.
