Ashgabat mosque hosted an event in memory of those killed in the earthquake in Turkey

Sadaka was given with funds from royalties for books of the leader of the nation, chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Religious figures from Turkey, who specially arrived in Ashgabat on this occasion, took part in the memorial event. Upon arrival at the mosque, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov talked to them. During the conversation, the importance of further development of Turkmen-Turkish relations, and first of all, humanitarian ties, the history of which dates back more than one century, was noted. It is the commonality of long-standing spiritual, moral and religious traditions that determines the mutual support of the two fraternal peoples in difficult moments of history.
Words of sincere sympathy were conveyed to relatives and friends of numerous victims of the devastating earthquake, and wishes for a speedy recovery were conveyed to the victims.
Addressing the participants of the ceremony, the head of the Halk Maslakhaty said that today the foundation-laying ceremonies for the International Scientific and Clinical Oncology Center, the International Pediatrics Center and the Dental Center were held, the construction of which was entrusted to the Turkish company Gap Inşaat. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the fact that the Turkish people call Turkmenistan their Fatherland. Two fraternal peoples, two states always support each other in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The catastrophic earthquake in Turkey, which led to numerous destructions and casualties, did not leave us indifferent, we empathized with the Turkish people. Turkmenistan was among the first to extend a fraternal helping hand to this country, the leader of the nation said.
Humanitarian aid was sent to Turkey on behalf of the Turkmen people. In those days, the chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty visited the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Ashgabat to express compassion for the fraternal people. At the same time, it was announced the intention to give sadaka in memory of the dead, which took place on Wednesday, March 15, on the eve of the month of Oraza and on the eve of the visit of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Ankara, where on March 16 an extraordinary summit of the Organization of Turkic States on the topic “Disaster Management and humanitarian aid".
