Turkmenistan's junior hockey team defeated the UAE at the Asian and Oceania Championships
15.03.2023 | 10:50 |The junior national team of Turkmenistan won a confident victory with a score of 7 : 2 over the UAE team in the match of the third round of the Asian and Oceania Championship 2023 (U18), which takes place in Ulan Bator (Mongolia).
Matvey Arkhipov, Rovshen Ashirov, who scored a double, Alihan Aliskerov, Elman Isaev and Nazar Zheltyakov scored goals in the Turkmen team. Mohamed Alkubaisi and Alexander Simonov scored for the Emirati national team.
Following the results of three rounds, the wards of Guvanchmurad Jepbarov are on the third line of the standings with six points. The first and second places were occupied by the national teams of Uzbekistan and Mongolia, respectively, having a similar number of points. As part of the third round, the teams will hold a face-to-face meeting.
Earlier, the Turkmenistan national ice hockey team won with a score of 4 : 3 over rivals from Thailand and was defeated by the Uzbek team — 5 : 0.
The Turkmen hockey players will hold their next meeting on March 15 against the host of the tournament — the national team of Mongolia.
Six teams are competing for the trophy: Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Thailand, UAE, Mongolia and Iran. The tournament will end on March 19.
