Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan launched a project for the development and transmission of "green" energy

On the sidelines of the World Climate Summit COP 29 in Baku, the heads of state Ilham Aliyev, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Agreement on Strategic Partnership in the Field of Production and Transmission of Green Energy between the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

– The signing of the Agreement on Strategic Partnership - is an important stage in trilateral cooperation in the development of the regions of Central Asia and the South Caucasus. The document opens up new opportunities for the integration of the energy systems of our states, as well as the creation of reliable corridors for the supply of environmentally friendly energy to the European and other markets. Kazakhstan plays an extremely important role here as a large transit territory. The practical results of this Agreement will also contribute to the development of the Middle Corridor as a "green bridge" connecting our economies, – Tokayev noted. This was reported by Akorda.

President Ilham Aliyev noted that today's agreement takes the fraternal relations and strategic partnership between the three countries to a new level.

– The regions of Central Asia and the Caucasus act synchronously in many issues, including in the development of "green" energy. We know about the big plans and the results already achieved in creating renewable energy sources in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, – the President of Azerbaijan said.

In turn, the President of Uzbekistan said that this agreement pursues not only an economic goal, but also represents a common contribution to the future.

– I would like to especially note the environmental significance of this project. The energy that will be transmitted is wind and solar energy, which will help mitigate the impact on the climate. In this way, we support joint efforts to protect the climate within the framework of the Paris Agreement and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals,– Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

In the presence of the heads of state, Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Almasadam Satkaliyev, Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov, Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov and Minister of Energy of Saudi Arabia Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud signed the Executive Program on cooperation in the field of development and transmission of green energy.
