The President of Turkmenistan held a meeting on agriculture issues
12.11.2024 | 14:20 |On Monday, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting on agriculture. The discussion on the current activities in the agricultural sector involved Deputy Prime Minister Tangryguly Atahallyyev and the heads of regional administrations.
During the meeting, the hakim of the Balkan velayat, Hojamyrat Ashyrmyradov, reported to the head of state on the fulfillment of the cotton growers' contractual obligations in the region regarding the delivery of raw cotton to the state.
The heads of Ahal (S. Soltanmyradov), Dashoguz (D. Babayev), Lebap (M. Annanepesov) and Mary (B. Orazov) regions reported on the overall state of agricultural campaigns in their respective regions.
It was reported that the cotton harvest continues, with measures being taken to ensure the efficient use of agricultural machinery. Efforts are also focused on ensuring the uninterrupted transportation of raw cotton to collection points and cotton processing plants. On the fields sown with winter wheat, care for the crops is being carried out. In addition, preparations are underway for the fields to be ready for the upcoming cotton harvest. The heads of the regional administrations reported on the progress of the construction of social and production facilities.
At the conclusion of the reports from the hakims, Deputy Prime Minister Tangryguly Atahallyyev presented an overall picture of the agricultural campaigns across the country to the head of state.
Following all the speeches, the President of Turkmenistan instructed the heads of regional administrations to further strengthen control over cotton harvesting, efficient operation of agricultural machinery, work of cotton ginning enterprises and collection points.
The head of state congratulated cotton growers of the Balkan region on fulfilling their contractual obligations on cotton delivery and wished them continued successes.
Personal instructions were given to the leadership of Dashoguz and Lebap velayats on rice harvesting, and to the head of Mary region on sugar beet harvesting.
All participants of the meeting were instructed to pay special attention to the care of cereal fields, timely weeding, vegetative irrigation and soil fertilization with mineral fertilizers.
Instructions were given to carry out timely plowing of lands for the upcoming cotton harvest, as well as to ensure the completion of financial settlements between producers and service institutions.
The President also ordered monitoring of the production and social infrastructure facilities that are scheduled to be commissioned this year. Additionally, the meeting participants received instructions on a number of other organizational issues.
