Turkmenistan discusses best practices in the field of adaptation to climate change
22.02.2023 | 14:25 |Best practices in the field of planning measures for adaptation to climate change is the main topic of the seminar, which started today in Turkmenistan in a hybrid format.
The event was organized within the framework of the UNDP project "Development of the national adaptation planning process in Turkmenistan" and the project of the International Organization for Migration "Inclusion of interrelations between migration, environment and climate change in national plans related to climate change".
The seminar is the second of a series of training courses to raise awareness about climate change adaptation in Turkmenistan in the implementation of adaptation measures in the planning, execution, monitoring and evaluation of sectoral policies, programs and strategies at all levels.
During two days, the participants, together with international experts and specialized specialists, will discuss practical and institutional aspects of adaptation to climate change, consider a regional strategy for adaptation to climate change in Central Asia. Hereld Sterli, a researcher at the University of Vienna, will talk about the integration of population mobility issues into national adaptation plans.
